Meet the Team

Hello! We thought you might like to find out a bit more about Croyland Car Megastore, its environment and our fantastic team. Quite a few of our employees have worked here for many years, so who better to tell you than the team themselves?

Introducing a selection of the Croyland team from all corners of our business...

Mark Swindells - General Manager

After applying for a trainee sales position with Croyland three times, I was eventually given the opportunity to work here - and I haven't looked back since. That was 14 (ahem!) years ago now and through sheer hard work and determination I worked my way through the ranks and have been General Manager for the past 5 or 6 years. It's been fascinating to be able to see how the different car trends have changed over the years and how the market has evolved. Croyland is also a great place to work. Our experienced staff are hard-working, friendly, and knowledgeable; many of whom have been on the journey with me and have been here for as long as me, if not longer! I still get a buzz out of giving our customers what I call 'the glow' when they leave after experiencing good service and are happy with their purchase. We pride ourselves on giving the same level of service to all our customers, whether they spend £6,000 or £20,000; everyone is equal.

This was my first job after college and since I've been here I have achieved my level four accountancy qualification, which means I am now a fully-fledged member of the AAT (the professional body for accountancy technicians). Croyland has been extremely supportive of my continued professional development. Academically, I have to keep up to date with the latest advancements in accounting, technology, and legislation as part of my AAT membership, but it has also been invaluable to get great on-the-job training and support from my colleagues.

When I joined Croyland, I can honestly say that I felt I fitted in straight away. It's a pleasure to come into work every day - the team I work with all help each other out and it's especially nice because we're all girls! I studied criminology at university so working at Croyland is a bit different to that, but nevertheless I embraced the challenge and really enjoy being part of the team and doing my bit in ensuring the smooth running of the business administration.​

I returned to work with the Croyland team following my 15 years previous service here. I took a two year break and I’ve been back now for over five years. It was like coming home when I joined the team again because everyone at Croyland is like family to me. I have worked in various roles during my Croyland career and in my latest position I look after the sales ledger and petrol accounts, amongst other responsibilities. Outside of work I am a real foodie and enjoy dining out and walking my pug/French bulldog cross dogs Tia and Bruno. I enjoy my job because Croyland is such a nice place to work and I like the family feeling here.

Victoria Bodsworth,

After Sales Coordinator and Vehicle Administrator

I joined the Croyland team in the summer after finishing my degree in sports science and sports statistics at the University of Bedfordshire. I had previously worked with the Croyland team when I worked in the shop during my last year at university. I wanted to join the team because there is a really great atmosphere here, everyone is very friendly and relaxed and I get on with everyone because they are really nice people. I work on the after sales services helping customers who may want something investigating regarding their vehicles. So I meet the customers and get the vehicles booked in and take them through the process. It is a customer facing role, which I enjoy. I also really enjoy working here because of the variety, no two days are the same. Outside of work I enjoy playing rugby and support Northampton Saints.

Hayley Gardner,

I love working here at Croyland and have settled in well. The team are lovely and I really enjoy my new job. As part of my role I help with all the paperwork involved when customers buy a vehicle and from the initial sale through to collection. That includes dealing with invoices, vehicle log books and the DVLA. The flexible working hours at Croyland are ideal for me as I have two boys aged five and two. I am looking forward to progressing my career here at Croyland.

I have just joined Croyland after working in a previous administration role in the construction industry. I applied to work at Croyland because I wanted to try something different and work in a different sector. In my role I help with preparing all the necessary paperwork for cars that have been sold. It’s been really great working at Croyland so far and I am enjoying learning new processes and how things are done.

I previously worked in the car industry before joining Croyland just over five years ago. I have recently returned to Croyland after taking maternity leave and I have worked in a different range of roles during my time here, including after sales and admin. As part of my latest role I look after the online marketing of our vehicles and deal with adding all the necessary details onto the sites we work with. I enjoy working here because of the team and the variety.

Operative/Quality Control

I began working at Croyland as a car valeter about 17 years ago and I've been responsible for the quality control of vehicles for the past 10 years. I work with some fantastic people and have made some great friendships over the years - the business has a real 'family feel' about it. Everyone always pulls together as a team and I love getting the cars up to our Croyland gold standard of quality on a daily basis.

Sue Wilson,

New Customer Service Executive

Working at Croyland is a new challenge for me, it’s great and something very different. I help with all the handovers, calling customers to make sure they’re OK to collect their vehicle and ensure they bring all their documentation with them. I’m here to greet them when they come in and am a familiar face. I also do the after sales calls as well. I enjoy all the face-to-face interaction with customers, meeting people and being hands on. It’s nice to see customer’s faces when they drive away happy with their vehicle. In the long-term I’d like to be able to be more involved in different departments. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming at Croyland – everybody is so lovely.
