CROYLAND CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to our Croyland Champions, the sporting stars from the Under 13s youth team at AFC Rushden & Diamonds Football Club, who have demonstrated their winning ways at a major football tournament.

Croyland Car Megastore has supported the talented team throughout the season with sponsorship, providing the players with much needed new football kit to give them a winning look. They recently triumphed at the ESF Festival of Football tournament, taking the top spot!

The dedicated team of players from the local club had set their sights on championship glory and already secured a succession of wins this season, which has been boosted by Croyland’s sponsorship support.

The youth team competed in the football tournament staged at Skegness and was again on fine form; winning all of their five games and scoring a total of 28 goals.

They were the only team in all of the competing age groups not to concede any goals and the top team is now through to the national finals at St George’s Park taking place on July 8 and 9.

As the winning streak for the team continues, they are still hoping for league glory, a result that will be decided on goal difference.

Mark Swindells, General Manager at Croyland Car Megastore, said: “We are thrilled the youth team Croyland sponsors continues to triumph. Their latest results are fantastic and we are proud to offer our support to community teams at a grass roots level. These players are the stars of the football future and it is important to support them as much as possible.

“We wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming matches and hope their winning run continues for the rest of the season and beyond.”

Team coach Scott Carlin acknowledged the sponsored kit boosted morale.

Scott said: “The team are doing very well and it was a real boost for them to have a brand new kit courtesy of Croyland Car Megastore, they love it.

“The club can’t afford to kit all the players out so it’s a massive help to have Croyland’s support. It is great for the team who are the football stars of tomorrow.”
