Croyland Car Megastore’s latest trainee team member is feeling flushed about his new job.
Trainee sales executive Charlie Rock sees his new role as a solid foundation for his future Croyland career prospects.
The 20-year-old, who lives in Wellingborough, originally studied to qualify as a plumber at Moulton College but made a u turn after he first made his splash working in the sector.
Deciding plumbing wasn’t his vocation after all; Charlie changed direction and took on another service sector role.
A brief stint working as an electrician also failed to create a spark for Charlie, whose career aspirations were initially ignited when he first started working at Croyland.
Working within a family run business was part of the appeal when applying for a position with the company confessed Charlie.
He said: “I first started here as a general maintenance person, helping out with different tasks and doing whatever was needed.
“I then started working in the body shop department where I helped with quality checks on cars and vehicles.
“I also assisted with collecting cars and vehicles from auction and generally helping out with a bit of everything.
“I’ve just started in sales and I’m really enjoying it. I like the way the company is run; it is a relaxed and friendly environment. It’s an upside that it is a family owned business, it’s so much better.”
Charlie sees his long-term career developing at Croyland.
He added: “I want to build up my confidence and experience and see where it takes me.”
