Croyland Car Megastore’s general manager, Mark Swindells, took part in the world-famous 2016 London Marathon on Sunday 24 April to raise money for Children with Cancer UK.
Mark took to the capital’s streets, joining 38,000 other runners on the start line, as he proudly wore the charity’s eye-catching superhero running vest and cape.
Whilst an avid runner, this was Mark’s first full marathon challenge, which he managed to complete in an impressive 4 hours 9 minutes.
He said: “The atmosphere on the day was absolutely fantastic and, as a runner, it is this that keeps you going. The last few miles were really tough and the support from the crowds lining the street was invaluable.
“Running the London marathon was undoubtedly one of the hardest but most thrilling things I have ever done. Knowing I was doing this to help in the fight against childhood cancers helped me push through the pain barrier to keep going to the finish line. ”
Mark was able to raise £1,213.60 on his money giving page, plus further monies raised through promotions at Croyland Car Megastore.
