IT’S A BUGS LIFE FOR CROYLAND COMPETITION WINNERS!

Northants pupils enjoy a visit from Cooper the Dog and Bugtopia

Northamptonshire schoolchildren enjoyed some animal magic when they had a special visit from Cooper the dog and creatures from Bugtopia.

Raunds Park Infant School pupils were joined by some creepy crawly classmates for some animal antics during a recent visit by Bugtopia. Children could get hands on with the bugs during the educational experience which was the winning prize for a competition by us.

We launched a competition via social media calling for people to nominate a local school to win the prize of a visit by Bugtopia, with thousands responding.

Raunds Park Infant School won and pupils were able to handle and learn all about some of the Bugtopia creatures, which included a tarantula! Pupils were also treated to a special appearance by Cooper the dog, Croyland’s cuddly mascot.

Lisa Jeffery, Headteacher at Raunds Park Infant School, said: “We were delighted to have won a visit from Bugtopia through the competition held by Croyland Car Megastore. At Raunds Park, one of our main aims is for children to have as many exciting, hands on opportunities to learn as possible, so this prize was right up our street! Our young children have a natural curiosity and love for the outdoor world, and we enjoy welcoming visitors to our school and learning from experts!

“We thank our parents and all the friends of Raunds Park Infant School for voting for us, we were overwhelmed by the support we had. This shows how much the whole community values our children’s education and the enrichment experiences that enhance this.”

General Manager at Croyland Car Megastore, Mark Swindells, added: “Our Bugtopia competition was by far one of our most popular to date and we were delighted to provide the prize for pupils at Raunds Park Infant School. We were also thrilled to be able to send Cooper along to meet the children.”
