Croyland’s General Manager Mark Swindells got his running shoes on again this weekend and headed north to compete in the Derby Ramathon in aid of charity.
Flying the flag for Rushden, Mark joined thousands of other runners on the starting line at the iPro Stadium on Sunday 7 June, before heading out into the Derbyshire countryside.
Mark completed the 13.1-mile run, which is believed to be one of the flattest in the country, in a personal best time of 1 hour 49 minutes. He said: “I am delighted to have once again beaten my previous running time - this time by five minutes. If I’m quite honest, I prefer running when it’s a little bit cooler!
“It’s really great to be doing something I enjoy to raise money for some fantastic charities – we’re nearly half way through the year now, and I’m about half way to reaching my fundraising goal, which is great.”
This year Croyland Car Megastore is raising money to support local charity the Cransley Hospice and national charity Children with Cancer.
Mark’s next marathon challenge is the Morrisons Great Newham London Run on 19th July. To make a donation please visit Mark’s page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MarkSwindells
